Actress Tracee Ellis Ross Targeted in $100K Home Burglary

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross was the victim of a brazen home burglary after thieves forced their way into her Los Angeles residence while she was out of town.

According to NBC Los Angeles, police obtained security footage showing three suspects smashing through a rear glass door on Aug. 31. The intruders fled with an estimated $100,000 worth of jewelry and handbags.

The burglary wasn’t discovered until early Sept. 2, when staff arrived at the property and found it ransacked. Authorities have not confirmed whether Ross was specifically targeted.

The incident adds to a troubling surge of celebrity home invasions across Los Angeles. In June, Brad Pitt’s Los Feliz home was burglarized while he was away, and rapper Macklemore’s nanny was assaulted with bear mace during a break-in the same month.

Ross, 52, is the daughter of Motown legend Diana Ross and music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein. A decorated actress, she has earned three NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe for her acclaimed role on Black-ish.

Her latest project, Solo Traveling With Tracee Ellis Ross, was renewed for a second season last month after becoming Roku’s most-watched unscripted series upon its July premiere.

“The way the show is resonating feels truly special — all of the comments, the conversations, the connection… my cup runneth over,” Ross said in a statement following the renewal. “Here’s to all the solo travelers, the aspiring solo travelers, those who share in the joy of solo travel by watching me do it, and of course, my fellow over-packers!”

Season one documented Ross’s journeys through Morocco, Mexico, and Spain, where she explored local cultures and reflected on the personal growth that comes with solo adventures.

Police have not released additional details about the suspects in Ross’s case.
