Cash Money Tour Brings Nostalgic Energy to Atlanta’s State Farm Arena

Share

The Cash Money Millionaires took over Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Saturday, May 3, delivering a night steeped in early 2000s nostalgia.

The tour, a tribute to the era when “Cash Money Records [was] taking over for the ’99 and the 2000,” drew a crowd filled with millennials who grew up on the label’s biggest hits—and their Gen X parents who first made them anthems.

Kicking off the evening were members of State Property. Chris and Neef, joined by a slimmed-down Freeway and a noticeably leaner Beanie Sigel, energized the crowd with hits from their Roc-A-Fella Records days, including “Feel It In The Air,” “Rock The Mic,” “What We Do,” and “Flipside.”

Philadelphia rapper Cassidy also made a surprise appearance, performing “I’m a Hustler” and sampling other favourites from his catalog.

The night’s main event, however, was a celebration of Cash Money’s golden era. Legendary producer and DJ Mannie Fresh set the stage, warming up the crowd before bringing out Juvenile, The Hot Boyz—including Turk and B.G., the latter recently released after serving a 12-year prison sentence—and Cash Money’s co-founder Birdman.

Together, the crew delivered an electric set packed with classics from the Cash Money Millionaires’ heyday, including “Slow Motion,” “I Need A Hot Girl,” “Hood Rich,” and “#1 Stunna.” Notably absent was Lil Wayne, whose presence many fans had anticipated.

Despite his absence, the collective’s performance resonated with the crowd, showcasing the enduring legacy and unmistakable New Orleans spirit that first propelled them into stardom.

With ten more stops scheduled, the Cash Money Reunion Tour continues across the country. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
