In a recent incident involving Memphis rapper GloRilla, an arresting officer alleges that the artist exhibited signs of alcohol and marijuana use.
Additionally, during the encounter, GloRilla inadvertently exposed part of her chest. The situation has drawn attention and sparked discussions about the circumstances surrounding her arrest.
The 24-year-old artist, known for her hit song “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” was taken into custody by local police after an incident involving a U-turn at a red light.
The Arrest Details
According to reports, GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was driving a Mercedes Benz when she made an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Suwanee Walk Avenue around 4 a.m. An alert officer observed the traffic violation and pulled her over.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed several concerning signs.
GloRilla’s eyes were watery and bloodshot, and the car emitted the smell of both marijuana and alcohol. When questioned about her drinking, GloRilla reportedly responded dismissively, saying, “It does not matter,” and insisted she was “good to drive.”
The officer administered a field sobriety test, during which GloRilla exhibited multiple indicators of impairment.
However, when asked to take a breathalyzer test, she declined. Additionally, it was discovered that part of her chest was exposed during the questioning, a detail the officer noticed only after instructing her to adjust her jacket.
Charges and Release
As a result of the incident, GloRilla faces the following charges:
- Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
- Possessing or Consuming an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container
- Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device
She was released on a $1,956 bond later that same day. The rapper’s legal situation remains uncertain, and she has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
GloRilla Rise to Fame
GloRilla gained national prominence in 2022 with her energetic track “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).” Her recent collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on “Wanna Be” further solidified her position in the music industry. Now, her legal woes cast a shadow over her promising career as fans and fellow artists await further developments.
