Report: D4vd Transfers Texas Homes to Mother as LAPD Probes Teen’s Death Found in His Tesla

Singer d4vd (legal name David Anthony Burke) has transferred the deeds of two Houston-area homes to his mother amid an ongoing Los Angeles police investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenager whose body was discovered last month in the front trunk of his impounded Tesla, according to multiple reports.

Property records reviewed by entertainment outlets show the ownership changes were filed Sept. 18 and again later that month. On the same day as the first transfer, police responded to a swatting call at one of the residences; body-camera video later released by local media shows officers arriving after a bogus 911 report of a shooting.

Los Angeles detectives say Hernandez had likely been dead for several weeks before her remains were found in early September in d4vd Burke’s car, which had sat parked in the Hollywood Hills for an extended period before being towed. The cause and manner of death remain undetermined, and investigators have not named Burke a suspect.

In a recent statement, LAPD Capt. Scot M. Williams said investigators know Hernandez died and that “someone placed her body in the front trunk area” of Burke’s Tesla; the probe continues as evidence is analyzed and detectives work to reconstruct the timeline.

Hernandez, who was reported missing in April 2024, was laid to rest this month. Authorities have executed search warrants at a Hollywood Hills property linked to Burke as they pursue leads. Burke has not commented publicly on the case, and representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
