Nigerian-American actress, writer, and producer Rosemary Idisi has won Tubi’s first-ever Stubios Greenlight Contest, the streamer announced on Oct. 3. Her original horror-thriller “Glamping”—expanded from her earlier short—will debut as a Tubi Original on Friday, Oct. 24.
The feature follows a picture-perfect Big Bear getaway that turns into a nightmare when a masked killer targets aspiring influencer Olivia and her friends, with the long-form version delving deeper into character backstories and survival choices.
Stubios, launched in 2024 under Tubi for Creators, is the platform’s fan-driven studio that pairs funding and mentorship with audience voting to help emerging filmmakers bring projects to premiere on Tubi.
By giving creators greater control, Tubi seeks to bridge the gap to Hollywood, expand its audience, and champion underrepresented voices in media.
“At Tubi, we champion untold stories—and Rosemary’s genre-defying vision for Glamping is exactly that,” said Adam Lewinson, chief content officer at Tubi. “Congratulations to Rosemary for winning the Stubios Greenlight Content, and we’re thrilled to help bring her storytelling to Tubi, where stories truly find their audience.”
Idisi topped the fan vote in the inaugural competition, underscoring the streamer’s push to surface underrepresented voices and “untold stories” through a more participatory development pipeline.
“Tubi champions creator-led stories,” chief content officer Adam Lewinson said as the company congratulated Idisi and set the Oct. 24 premiere for Glamping. The win marks a milestone for Idisi’s rising career and a timely proof point for Tubi’s fan-fueled strategy to bridge independent talent with a mass streaming audience.
