50 Cent and Ben Crump Push for Black Representation in Luxury Spirits Industry

On June 5, 2024, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and civil rights attorney Ben Crump met with Congress members to advocate for more Black representation in the luxury spirits industry.

They aimed to address the wealth gap and increase Black ownership in this sector.

50 Cent and Crump met with both Democratic and Republican lawmakers at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. Their goal was to gain bipartisan support for greater Black participation in the luxury spirits industry.

“This is really exciting for me. I got a chance to meet with both sides today, and it feels really good,” Jackson said.

The visit is part of 50 Cent’s legal fight against Suntory Global Spirits. He accuses the company of an embezzlement scheme that allegedly cost him millions.

50 Cent made his intentions clear on social media, stating he would discuss the impact of Suntory Global on his business with the Congressional Black Caucus.

Attorney Ben Crump highlighted Jackson’s success as a Black entrepreneur.

“Mr. Jackson is one of the most successful Black entrepreneurs in America,” Crump said. “We’re here today to talk about how he’s trying to knock down barriers of equal access and equal opportunity to have a seat at the table in all industries.”

The G-Unit rapper’s day on Capitol Hill follows his ongoing legal fight against Suntory Global Spirits. He accuses the company of an embezzlement scheme that cost him millions of dollars. 50 made his intention for meeting with Congress clear when he announced his day in the nation’s capital on X and sent a warning to Suntory Global.

During his visit, 50 Cent made a controversial comment, suggesting that Black men are identifying with Donald Trump ahead of the presidential election because of RICO charges. This statement attracted significant attention and sparked debate.

50 Cent and Ben Crump are working to create a more inclusive and equitable luxury spirits industry, ensuring that Black entrepreneurs have the opportunity to thrive.

Their efforts reflect broader issues of representation and economic opportunity, aiming to address systemic inequalities in various sectors.
