Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Bring Their “Giants” Art Exhibit to Richmond

Music power couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are taking their love of art on the road, and their next stop is Richmond.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) will host their traveling exhibition, “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,” from Nov. 22, 2025, to March 1, 2026. The show features more than 130 pieces by 40 Black artists from around the world.

Celebrating “Giants” in Art

The exhibition, first launched in 2024, is all about honoring creative greatness. Keys explains it this way: “We need to be our most giant selves—to think our biggest thoughts, express ourselves fully, and give ourselves permission to be giants.”

Visitors can expect to see work from legendary names like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gordon Parks, Kehinde Wiley, Amy Sherald, and Mickalene Thomas, alongside rising stars in today’s art scene. The mix includes paintings, photos, sculptures, music-related pieces, and even BMX bikes—showing just how diverse and bold the couple’s collection is.

Why They Created It

For Alicia Keys and Beatz, “Giants” isn’t just about showing off their personal collection—it’s about spotlighting Black and Brown artists who haven’t always gotten the attention they deserve.

“Collect, protect, and respect,” Alicia Keys said when the exhibit first launched in Atlanta. She credits her husband’s eye for discovering new talent—he once surprised her with a painting on their third date—as a big part of how the collection grew.

Swizz Beatz hopes the show inspires others to support more artists. “Hopefully, we’re opening the gates for many more collectors and many more artists to be noticed and seen,” he said. “This is a big blessing.”

“Giants” will run at VMFA from Nov. 22 through March 1. Museum members can grab presale tickets, while the general public will have access starting Sept. 8.
