Reebok’s Angel Reese 1, first teased during July’s WNBA All-Star Weekend, sold out within minutes of its official launch on the brand’s website.
Angel Reese The Chicago Sky forward celebrated the moment on social media, saying she was “in full tears,” after taking “a leap of faith” by releasing three colourways at once. “They all sold out,” she wrote, thanking fans and declaring, “Reebok is back.”
The debut lineup featured three editions,“Mebounds,” “Diamond Dust,” and “Receipts Ready” priced at $120 and released at 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 18, according to Sports Illustrated.
“I’m in full tears right now. Taking a leap of faith and launching three of my signature shoes at once was a huge risk, but guess what? They all sold out! I’m sooooo THANKFUL & beyond GRATEFUL and just want to thank everyone for the amazing support. REEBOK IS BACK!
Reebok says more drops are coming: a “Charm City” colourway in October honouring Reese’s Baltimore roots, followed in November by “King Tiago” (named after her dog) and “Giving Grace.”
Fans who missed out on this collection will have another opportunity to purchase Angel Reese-branded Reeboks in the future. The company will release the “Charm City” colorway in October, which honors her hometown of Baltimore. The “King Tiago,” which is named after her pet dog and “Giving Grace” colorways will arrive in November.
Reese’s second WNBA season brought standout individual moments but few team wins for the Sky. Angel Reese battled injuries, served a suspension for technicals, and received a half-game penalty for comments deemed detrimental to the team.
After the season, she posted a reflective message to fans, noting the adversity and growth of “Year 2” and adding, “This is only the beginning.”
