Bureau of Prisons Lists Diddy’s Projected Release for May 8, 2028

Diddy Combs is now projected to leave federal custody on May 8, 2028, according to the Bureau of Prisons’ inmate records, reflecting credit for time already served and potential good-conduct reductions from his 50-month sentence for two Mann Act convictions (transportation to engage in prostitution).

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian imposed the sentence on Oct. 3, 2025, along with a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release. Combs has been jailed since his September 2024 arrest; that custody time counts toward his term.

Under federal rules, inmates serving more than a year can earn up to 54 days per year off for good behavior, which helps explain the May 2028 date listed by BOP.

After release, Diddy will be subject to strict supervision, including no contact with victims, drug testing and treatment, and other standard conditions set out in court filings and reporting on the sentencing.

Diddy is currently held at MDC Brooklyn but could be moved. His legal team has asked that he serve his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, a low-security facility that offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program; participation could further affect his time in custody, subject to BOP decisions.

Diddy still has not been assigned to his next home for the next several years. Judge Arun Subramanian said he should be imprisoned as close as possible to the New York City Metropolitan area.

The disgraced producer’s attorneys requested that he serve his sentence in New Jersey at FCI Fort Dix, which has an acclaimed drug treatment program. Since that is not a decision he can make, Judge Subramanian says the Bureau of Prisons will determine the prison where he will serve his time.

Diddy has said he will appeal.
