WNBA great Candace Parker has signed a multi-year contract extension to remain with TNT Sports as a sports analyst, the broadcaster has confirmed.
Parker will continue her role as a commentator for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on CBS Sports, a position she has held since 2019. She will also contribute to Bleacher Report and its B/R W platform, and serve as lead studio analyst for Unrivaled, a women’s 3-on-3 basketball league.
“I’m grateful to keep doing what I love with my TNT Sports family,” Parker said in a statement. “Getting to cover the Big East, Big 12, March Madness, and now Unrivaled, it all means a lot. These moments are special, and I don’t take any of it for granted.”
two-time NCAA champion with the University of Tennessee (2007, 2008), Parker was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2008 and made history as the first player to win WNBA MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same season.
She went on to win three WNBA championships — with the Sparks in 2016, the Chicago Sky in 2021, and the Las Vegas Aces in 2023 — as well as two Olympic gold medals for Team USA (2008, 2012).
In June, the Sparks retired her No. 3 jersey, making her only the third player in franchise history to receive the honour, following Lisa Leslie and Penny Toler. On 25 August, Parker will have her jersey retired by the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.
Parker retired from playing after the 2023 season but remains one of basketball’s most recognisable voices, extending her influence from the court to the broadcast studio.
