Dame Dash Says He’ll Sue “The Breakfast Club” Over Chaotic Interview, Alleges Smear Campaign

Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash, 54, says he plans to sue The Breakfast Club following a volatile interview earlier this month, alleging the show engaged in an intentional smear campaign.

In a conversation with Cam Capone News, Dash said he has “sent a demand letter” and is preparing legal action against the syndicated radio show and others he believes were involved. “I’m suing The Breakfast Club, but I also sent a demand letter to … the Chris Brown lawyer and everyone that was in that whole circle and scene,” he stated.

Dash took particular issue with commentary about his appearance during the broadcast. “We on the radio. So if you say I got dirty sneakers, playing or not, they can’t see it,” he said. “Then they’re going to think I got on dirty sneakers. It’s going to get into the algorithm… I don’t want to hear that when I got on new sneakers.” (The show typically releases full video of its interviews in addition to the audio.)

He also contrasted his treatment with that of conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, saying the hosts afforded Shapiro “the utmost respect.” “They let him talk,” Dash said, questioning why he felt he received less courtesy.

Dash added that he now intends to address perceived slights through the courts rather than online spats or street confrontations. “The people that have been f**king with me… I’m not going to take it to the street,” he said, citing former President Donald Trump’s litigious approach as an influence: “I look at what President Donald Trump does. He sues people.”

Despite the legal turn, Dash continued the conversation on social media, directing a post at co-host Charlamagne tha God via an Instagram clip from his show Bosses Take Losses. “Why would they give another culture more respect than their own?” he wrote, adding, “Are they paying you to do it? Either you hate us or someone is paying you to do it. Allegedly.”
