Everything About Brittney Griner’s Zennjet and Its Mission

Brittney Griner, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and WNBA player, co-founded Zennjet. Sennjet is a travel membership and support service that helps people safely travel with prescription.
The company was inspired by her own terrifying experience of being detained in Russia.
Her Russia Arrest and Detention
Griner was playing professional basketball for UMMC Ekaterinburg during the WNBA offseason when she was arrested in February 2022 at Sheremetyevo International Airport.

Russian customs officials had discovered vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her luggage, her prescription painkiller.
The Russian authorities detained her, although Griner insisted she had no intention of breaking the law. She was found guilty on drug charges and it led to a lengthy prison sentence.
In December 2022, after roughly ten months in Russian custody, she was released in a high-profile prisoner exchange with the U.S. government.
Turning Trauma Into Purpose
Griner has been candid about how her experience shaped her views on traveling abroad and legal risk.
She has stated that she doesn’t want others to experience the uncertainty and peril she did. Particularly regarding problems arising from disparities in how different nations handle prescription drugs.
According to Afro Tech she responded to USA Today saying “I never want anybody to go through what I went through. I’m aware that I’m very blessed and very lucky to have an agency team, my wife, and everybody behind me.”
What Zennjet Does
Zennjet began operations in late 2025. It is designed to support people traveling with prescribed medications, including:
- Medical cannabis
- Benzodiazepines Opioids
- among others.
As a travel membership service, Zennjet provides:
- 24/7 legal and medical assistance
- Access to a centralized database detailing legal requirements for medications in different countries
- Translation support, legal counsel, and repatriation services
- Medical evacuation and crisis support
- Assistance recovering lost, stolen, or confiscated prescriptions for members who register their trips.
The company’s goal is to avoid the kinds of miscommunications and disputes that put travelers in hot water overseas. They offer passengers with peace of mind, legal knowledge, and prompt assistance in the event of problems.
Addressing a Real Travel Gap
According to data released by Zennjet, approximately 10% of passengers have had prescription drugs confiscated at some time, and nearly one in nine have had to cancel a trip due to associated problems.
The service seeks to lessen these kinds of interruptions and misunderstandings regarding pharmaceutical regulations.
Griner’s Advocacy and Vision
Griner’s leadership position at Zennjet is consistent with her larger support of international travel safety and awareness. Even for seasoned travelers, she emphasizes that planning and understanding are essential because drug and prescription policies differ greatly around the globe.
Through her company, Griner is resisting a system that once left her defenseless. She is turning her personal experience into a platform that benefits others.
