TikTok food critic Keith Lee recently gave a big surprise to Shapiro’s, a locally loved pizza shop in Conyers, Georgia, a $50,000 check in recognition of its work in supporting the community Lee, in partnership with restaurant tech company Toast, chose Shapiro’s because the shop does much more than serve great food.

Shapiro’s is known for its bold and creative menu, including jerk oxtail pizza and Philly cheesesteak slices. But beyond the menu, it stands out for how it supports people around it.

“This place is more than a restaurant,” Keith Lee said. “They mentor young boys, reward students with free pizza, and help struggling families.”

Shapiro’s owners run a mentorship program for boys without fathers, provide school supplies, donate food to the homeless, and give regular discounts to teachers, first responders, and government workers. They even hold $500 giveaways three times a week.

“People can spend their money anywhere,” one of the co-owners said. “We just want to give back however we can.”

A loyal customer, Tanya B., nominated Shapiro’s for the award. “The owner is always smiling and ready to help,” she wrote. “They truly care.”

Now, with the $50,000 award from Keith Lee and Toast, Shapiro’s plans to keep doing what they love: serving food and serving people.

This moment shows that a good meal can feed more than a stomach — it can feed a whole community.
