A rare piece of NBA history changed hands recently when a 2009 Upper Deck Exquisite Dual Logoman card featuring both LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant was sold for an impressive $1,161,440 at auction.
The coveted card, listed by Goldin Auctions, attracted its first bid of $500,000 on May 15 before closing nearly a month later. What sets this collectible apart is not just its six-figure price tag—it’s the emotional weight it carries.
Adorned with autographs from both Lakers greats and two authentic, multicolored “Logoman” game-used patches, the card captures a moment in time between two of the most iconic figures in basketball.
Described by Goldin as “unbelievably prestigious,” the item belongs to a category of sports memorabilia known for their intense demand. Since Logoman cards first appeared in the early 2000s, they’ve consistently been among the most prized collectables in the hobby.
Still, this latest sale came in below a previous high for a similar card. In 2022, another Upper Deck Exquisite release—featuring Bryant, James, and Michael Jordan—fetched $1.68 million.
For fans and collectors alike, these cards are more than memorabilia. They’re tributes to greatness.
Kobe Bryant, remembered for his relentless drive and five NBA championships, left a legacy etched into the heart of the sport. His life was tragically cut short in 2020, alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others. He was inducted posthumously into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
LeBron James, still rewriting the record books, is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and the first to cross the 39,000-point mark. As his career continues, so does his impact on the league and future generations of athletes.
