Skai Jackson Files Restraining Order Against Child’s Father, Alleges Ongoing Abuse

Actress Skai Jackson has filed for legal protection against Deondre Burgin, the father of her 3-month-old son, citing a disturbing history of physical and emotional abuse. The 23-year-old former Disney star was granted a temporary restraining order after claiming years of violence, with the most recent and severe incident occurring on Mother’s Day.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jackson alleges that Burgin attacked her while she was holding their infant son, Kasai, grabbing her by the hair and slamming her head into a car window before punching her.

The Mother’s Day incident, however, is just one of several Jackson has outlined in her filing. She accuses Burgin of regular weekly abuse, including choking, scratching, and property damage, smashing her iPhone and television, among other items.

Alleged Abuse During Pregnancy

Jackson’s court filing also details multiple violent episodes during her pregnancy, including one in which Burgin allegedly held her at knifepoint, demanded she drink bleach to end the pregnancy, and threatened to stab her in the stomach if she called for help.

Another incident allegedly saw Burgin punch her through a locked bathroom door where she had taken refuge.

She claims Burgin choked her until she could no longer breathe and says she has video evidence to support the allegations. Jackson further expressed concern for her safety, stating that Burgin owns multiple firearms and could pose a threat to both her and their son.

In addition to the restraining order, Jackson is requesting a court-ordered child support agreement, mandatory domestic violence counseling for Burgin, and a directive requiring him to stay at least 100 feet away from her and their child.

Burgin, who was previously arrested in April on an outstanding warrant, was also reportedly incarcerated during the child’s birth due to a parole violation.

This case comes amid increased public attention on domestic violence within the entertainment industry. Earlier this month, actress and singer Halle Bailey filed for and was granted a restraining order and temporary sole custody of her son after alleging abuse by her child’s father, YouTuber DDG.
