Speculation Swirls as Shaquille O’Neal Hints at Possible Stephen Curry–Reebok Talks

The NBA’s hottest off-court question is where Stephen Curry will land next in the sneaker world now that his long-running partnership with Under Armour has ended. And Shaq O’Neal may have just added fuel to the fire.
In a recent interview, the Hall of Famer and current President of Reebok Basketball suggested that conversations may already be underway between Reebok and Curry’s camp. The topic came up after Curry was spotted wearing a pair of Reebok Shaqnosis sneakers during a game against the Orlando Magic, one of Shaq’s former teams.
When asked about Curry’s choice of footwear, Shaq O’Neal hesitated, then admitted: “I think our people are having conversations with his people… I think.” He went on to call Curry’s Shaqnosis moment a major win for the Reebok brand, adding that it puts fans and the industry in a “What’s he going to do?” phase.
Curry, however, has also been seen wearing Nike sneakers in recent games. Before a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 14, he warmed up in Nike “Mambacita” Kobe 6s—a tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi. He later switched to Nike Air Penny 2s during warmups at the Kia Center the same night he wore the Reebok Shaqnosis on court.
Despite the split, Under Armour will release its final Curry Brand sneaker, the Curry 13, in February 2026. Curry originally joined Under Armour after four years as a Nike athlete, ultimately spending 12 years with the company before both sides agreed to part ways earlier this month.
For now, the two-time MVP remains a sneaker free agent—and every appearance he makes is only intensifying the guessing game around his next big endorsement move.
