Wendy Williams Relocated Within Assisted Living Facility After Alleged Drinking Incident

Wendy Williams Reportedly Fails Medical Evaluations, Guardianship Set to Continue

Wendy Williams was reportedly moved to a secure memory unit in her assisted living facility following an incident where she became intoxicated, according to a facility employee who spoke to TMZ.

The former talk show host, initially housed on a less restrictive floor, allegedly visited the facility’s top-floor restaurant and bar for lunch where she consumed alcohol.

After supervisors learned that Wendy Williams had been served alcohol, they decided to transfer her to the facility’s memory unit, which has stricter access controls, including limited elevator use. This move aims to prevent similar incidents.

While waiting for a room in the memory unit, Wendy Williams was temporarily monitored by staff outside her third-floor room to ensure she did not return to the restaurant.

The incident and subsequent relocation come amid broader concerns about Williams’ wellbeing. She has been under a conservatorship and was diagnosed with dementia, a diagnosis she publicly questioned in a “Nightline” interview.

Wendy Williams compared her living conditions to being in prison, highlighting the restrictions she faces, including needing keys to move around the facility.

Despite the claims about her health, a staff member insisted that Williams’ memory remains sharp. “Wendy doesn’t have good and bad days. She’s the same all the time,” the employee told TMZ, adding that she can recall information weeks later.

This statement contradicts the reasoning behind her placement in a unit typically reserved for those with significant memory impairments.
