Dr. India Jackson has made history by becoming the first black woman to earn a PhD in physics from Georgia State University. She announced this significant achievement on the social media platform X, where she shared details about her impressive academic journey.

In her announcement, Dr. India Jackson expressed her pride in reaching this milestone. She explained her educational path: 

“It is my honour to announce that I have made history as the first black woman to receive a PhD in physics from Georgia State University. 

During this journey, I attained a BS in Mathematics, an MS in Mathematics, an MS in Physics, an MS in Computer Science, and a PhD in Astrophysics.”

Dr. Jackson’s educational background is extensive and varied. She has degrees in mathematics, physics, and computer science, which have given her a broad range of skills. These skills have allowed her to excel in various areas of science and technology.
