Offset Gives $30K Worth of Groceries and Gift Cards to Baltimore High School Students

The renowned rapper, Offset pleasantly surprised students at Dunbar High School in Baltimore on March 12. This heartwarming gesture aimed to celebrate the students’ remarkable academic achievements throughout the school year.

Partnering with footwear retailer DTLR and kitchen space LA Chow, Offset generously distributed over $30,000 worth of groceries and gift cards to the students and their families.

This act of kindness preceded his highly anticipated performance at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, as reported by CBS News Baltimore.

The Baltimore police took to social media to praise Offset for the drive. They wrote, “The BPD, along with @DTLRCmty  and @thelachow, had a wonderful time surprising the students at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (Baltimore, Maryland), who showed great attendance and academic success this school year! They even got to meet Rapper Offset and received gift cards. Great job, students!”

They shared their joy in surprising the students with Offset’s presence and the gifts they received.

During his visit, Offset specifically acknowledged Cadrn Bowie, a senior at Dunbar High School, who garnered admiration for being accepted into over 40 colleges.

The Shade Room also covered Offset’s philanthropic deed, sharing a video of his visit on their Instagram account.

In the clip, Offset can be seen distributing bags of groceries from a truck and spontaneously engaging with students in the auditorium, where he congratulates Bowie and all the students for their academic diligence.

After he departs from the Migos rap group, Offset’s solo tour includes a performance at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, among other venues. The Migos, consisting of Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset, faced tragedy with the untimely passing of Takeoff in 2020.
