Hunter Biden’s Ex-Girlfriend Testifies About Drug Use at Criminal Trial

Hunter Biden’s former girlfriend testified about his near-constant crack cocaine use at lavish hotels, aiming to prove that President Joe Biden’s son lied about his addiction to illegally buy a gun.
Jurors heard that Hunter Biden would prepare crack at the luxurious Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles or spend days in hotel rooms getting high, according to his former girlfriend, Zoe Kestan.
“He would want to smoke as soon as he woke up,” Kestan said, describing meetings with a “scary” drug dealer and searching online for instructions to cook powder cocaine into crack.
Criminal Charges
Kestan’s testimony is part of the first trial of a U.S. president’s child, where prosecutors aim to prove that Hunter Biden knowingly lied about his drug use on screening paperwork when purchasing a revolver in October 2018.
Black Elites reported earlier that Hunter Biden had pleaded not guilty to three felony charges, accusing him of failing to disclose his drug use when buying the gun and illegally possessing the weapon for 11 days.
Kathleen Buhle, who divorced Hunter Biden in 2017, testified for about 20 minutes, describing how she first discovered his drug use.
Prosecutors also plan to call Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, to testify.
Background of Hunter Biden’s Trial
The gun case is rooted in a difficult period in Hunter Biden’s life when he was coping with the death of his brother, Beau, and was addicted to crack cocaine and alcohol.
The trial is expected to revisit deeply personal episodes for Hunter Biden and the impact they had on the Biden family.
The case centers on a Colt Cobra revolver Hunter Biden bought at a Wilmington gun store in October 2018.
Prosecutors allege that Biden lied on a standard background check form when buying the gun by declaring that he was not using or addicted to illegal drugs.
Less than two weeks after the purchase, Hallie Biden, who was romantically involved with Hunter Biden after Beau’s death, found the gun and disposed of it in a dumpster outside a Wilmington market.
The gun was later found by a man collecting recyclables, who alerted law enforcement.
Hunter Biden’s trial is the first criminal trial involving a U.S. president’s child.
