NFL quarterback Russell Wilson and his Grammy Award-winning wife, Ciara, have successfully sold their expansive estate in Bellevue, Washington.
Initially listed for $28 million, the property has been purchased by an undisclosed buyer for $21.25 million, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
The sale includes an 11,000-square-foot mansion and a smaller lot, which was acquired by the couple four years after Wilson’s initial purchase of the adjacent 1.06-acre property.
The smaller lot was sold separately in 2022 for $9.75 million, bringing the total earnings from the sale to $31 million.
Wilson, who began his tenure as the Seattle Seahawks quarterback in 2012, bought the six-bedroom, five-bathroom residence in 2015 for $6.7 million.
Ciara and Wilson’s Real Estate Journey
In 2019, the couple, who married in 2016, invested an additional $6.7 million in the neighbouring lot, where they later constructed a sports court.
Perched on a bluff, the luxurious mansion offers panoramic views of tranquil Lake Washington from nearly every room.
The neoclassical interior design features a minimalist use of columns, arches, crown moulding, and scrolled edges.
A standout feature is the double-height foyer’s spiral staircase, adorned with an intricately carved wrought iron balustrade.
The home boasts a range of amenities, including a gym, a theatre, a yoga and dance studio, and a two-story treehouse for the couple’s four children.
The property extends to the water’s edge, providing 270 feet of flat land, two private beaches, and a three-slip dock that can accommodate two jet skis and a 60-foot yacht.
The decision to sell was influenced by Wilson’s trade to the Denver Broncos in 2022.
Recently, he signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in March. It remains to be seen whether the family plans to relocate to Pittsburgh permanently.
