Drake Acquires Large Texas Ranch for $15 Million

Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake, has expanded his real estate portfolio with the purchase of a 313-acre ranch located about 85 miles outside of Houston, Texas.

The property, known as Dos Brisas, was acquired for $15 million, a notch below its initial asking price of $17.5 million in April 2022.

According to CultureMap, the deal for the Mediterranean-style ranch, which features a main building spanning 14,300 square feet, was finalized in late October. The property had briefly come off the market after failing to sell by September 2022 and was relisted in May 2023 at the eventual selling price.

Tonya Currie, a real estate agent with Compass who managed the listing, described Dos Brisas as a “rare legacy ranch property” that provides a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” She highlighted that the adjusted listing price helped align the property with current market conditions, which facilitated the sale to Drake.

Originally constructed in 2002, Dos Brisas boasts an array of amenities, including several haciendas and casitas, a spacious indoor arena, an organic farm, a greenhouse, and a sports court. Notably, the ranch also houses a restaurant equipped with a 7,000-bottle wine cellar.

The property’s history adds to its allure. Previously owned by Houston tech mogul Doug Bosch and his wife Jennifer, Dos Brisas was transformed from a family retreat into a luxury resort in 2004.

Named a Relais & Châteaux property, it functioned as a high-end resort for nearly two decades and was home to Texas’s only Forbes Travel Guide five-star restaurant until it ceased operations in 2022 due to COVID-related losses.

While it remains unclear whether Drake will use the ranch as a personal retreat or for business purposes, his acquisition of Dos Brisas marks a significant investment into a property with a rich heritage and luxurious amenities.
