Snoop Dogg Teaches Martha Stewart the Art of Negotiation

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg might seem like an unusual pair, but they’ve proven to be a powerful team in both business and friendship. Recently, Stewart shared with People magazine that Snoop doesn’t just bring fun to their friendship – he also advises her on business deals.

Stewart praised Snoop’s business skills, calling him “curious, a great student, a phenomenal negotiator, tough, and ultra sweet.” In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, she explained that Snoop often takes the lead on their business negotiations. “We do a lot of work together, and I wait for him to negotiate the contract, then I go and follow him,” Stewart said.

Their partnership works both ways. Snoop credits Stewart for helping him land a deal with Skechers, after she encouraged him to work with the brand. “‘Snoop, I was trying to get you to do a deal with Skechers, but your people were in the way,’” she told him. She convinced him to take the opportunity.

Snoop also helped bring Stewart into his wine business with 19 Crimes. “I got the 19 Crimes wine deal, red wine, we’re popping off. Boom, boom, boom. ‘Hey Martha, what’s happening? You ain’t got no wine deal. You want to come over here and join us?’” he recalled, showing how he introduced her to the venture.

Their friendship goes beyond business. They were recently seen together at the 2024 Paris Olympics, cheering for American athletes and even going horseback riding.

Snoop’s journey from rap to business has been impressive. Recently, Black Enterprise reported that a past criminal case involving Snoop was officially sealed. In 1993, Snoop was charged with voluntary manslaughter, but he was acquitted in 1996. For almost 30 years, the case remained public, but with the record now sealed, his legacy is protected. The New York State Unified Court System confirmed that he would get back his fingerprints, booking photos, and DNA samples.

Stewart and Snoop’s friendship shows how two people from very different backgrounds can work together and support each other in life and business.
