Comedian and game show host Steve Harvey has entered into a strategic partnership with television personality Dr. Phil McGraw to launch one of the largest startup networks in modern history.
Harvey, known for hosting “Family Feud,” will join Dr. Phil’s Merit Street Media venture as an equity partner.
Their first collaborative project will be a documentary-style special highlighting Harvey’s Steve Harvey Mentoring Program.
This program, which hosts week-long camps for young men in Georgia, aims to empower them to become positive leaders in their communities and families.
The special is scheduled to air in the fall and will feature both Harvey and Dr. Phil.
In a statement, Harvey expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing his commitment to empowering individuals through entertainment.
He highlighted the significance of mentorship in transforming lives and expressed eagerness to share this journey with viewers.
“Partnering with my good friend on such an innovative network allows me to continue my mission of empowering and inspiring individuals through entertainment,” Harvey said in a written statement.
“The docu-style special highlighting the impactful work of the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation is particularly close to my heart.
I believe in the power of mentorship to transform lives, and look forward to sharing this journey with viewers.
The positive impact we can create together will be unlike anything seen before.”
Through their collaboration, Merit Street will focus on production, talent development, and on-air services.
Additionally, Merit Street has acquired over 300 episodes of Harvey’s syndicated talk show, “Steve,” which aired from 2017 to 2019.
Dr. Phil praised Harvey’s humor, kindness, and passion for helping others, underscoring their longstanding friendship and successful working relationship.
He also mentioned the launch of Merit Street last November and the premiere of his own show, “Dr. Phil Primetime,” on February 26th.
