Tyler Perry Reveals Cast for New Netflix Series 'Beauty in the Black

Tyler Perry latest series is already stirring excitement as the cast for his upcoming Netflix series has been revealed.

Headlining the show are Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, and a host of other talented actors.

Under his partnership with Netflix, Perry will write, direct, and produce the 16-episode hour-long series titled “Beauty in the Black.” 

This ambitious project aims to explore various aspects of Black life and culture through its storytelling.

Joining Williams and Stewart in the spotlight are Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, and George Middlebrook.

“Beauty in the Black” follows the lives of Kimmie (played by Williams) and Mallory (portrayed by Stewart), two Black women whose paths unexpectedly intertwine.

As the series unfolds, viewers will witness their struggles, triumphs, and the complexities of their relationships.

This isn’t Tyler Perry first venture into streaming. His previous Netflix projects, such as “A Fall From Grace,” “A Jazzman’s Blues,” and “Mea Culpa,” have been praised for their compelling storytelling and diverse representation.

Perry’s upcoming film with Netflix, “Six Triple Eight,” promises to shine a light on an often-overlooked chapter of history: the story of the only all-Black Women’s Army Corps unit during World War II. Starring Kerry Washington, this project is poised to captivate audiences with its poignant narrative and stellar performances.

In addition to his Netflix partnership, Tyler Perry has also struck a deal with Amazon MGM Studios. Among his upcoming projects is “Joy Ride,” featuring Shannon Thornton and Tosin Morohunfola, which is sure to resonate with audiences seeking powerful storytelling and dynamic characters.
