Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion is expanding her empire beyond music, diving headfirst into fashion with the launch of her debut swimwear brand, Hot Girl Summer. The 18-piece collection, designed entirely by the Houston-born artist, officially hits Walmart shelves and online platforms on May 19.
Breaking new ground, Megan becomes the first hip-hop artist to launch a self-branded swimwear line, according to a press release from her team.
“This launch is a full-circle moment for me,” said Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete. “I used to shop at Walmart growing up, so to now have my own line there is surreal. Everyone knows I love being by the water, and creating a swimwear brand felt like the natural next step.”
The collection boasts bold, size-inclusive styles designed to celebrate body confidence, true to the “Hot Girl” philosophy that has become synonymous with Megan’s brand. From bikinis to one-pieces and cover-ups, the pieces are priced between $16 and $28, making the line both stylish and affordable.
The swimwear will be sold in nearly 500 Walmart stores across the U.S., on Walmart.com, and on Megan’s own merch platform, MeganTheeStallion.com.
Ryan Waymire, Senior Vice President of Women’s Group at Walmart, praised the collaboration: “Megan represents confidence and individuality—values we want to celebrate in our fashion offerings. This partnership brings our customers exclusive access to a swim collection that’s as empowering as it is accessible.”
Hot Girl Summer is the latest in a series of entrepreneurial moves by the 30-year-old rapper, who recently also launched a Popeyes franchise. With this latest venture, Megan Thee Stallion is continuing to redefine what it means to be a modern multi-hyphenate.
